Artist Statement

Currently my work is exploring the tracks, traces and imprints left behind by movement. To explore using different traditional and found materials with the aim to create exciting desire paths and lines not yet discovered or imagined.
I like to produce. I need to make art work with a strong impact. I’m always aiming to create new and positive experiences, things which surprise me and anyone who encounters my work. My instinct is to closely observe life around me and note its changes. Always amazed by the fact that nothing is ever completely static and rigid, I want to identify different states of movement and to look for good ways of communicating how they can be perceived.
My work usually begins with a throw-away reference point, maybe a photograph or a memory of a particular event or happening. I select different materials and sometimes use a mix of media to explore the subject, two or three dimensionally. These selections are largely intuitive. Often the process of making takes over, becoming my most important focus. By listening carefully to the materials, just feeling my way, I frequently produce my more experimental and original art pieces.
